Lisp is one of the programming language used for many software and one of the best example software which uses lisp is the Autocad, commonly used for drafting purposes by engineers and draftsman of various engineering fields including Civil engineering, Mechanical and Electrical engineering.
The abbreviation “LISP” derived from the term “LISt Processing language”. It is the second – oldest language, originally specified in 1958 and being used even today. FORTRAN is the only program which is older than LISP. It was primarily created as a practical mathematical notation for computer programs, based on Alonzo Church’s lambda calculus and it quickly became the favored programming language for artificial intelligence (AI) research.
